Skip HireLicensed & Local
Terms & Conditions
In short: Peterborough Skip Hire is a free service that connects you with local licensed skip hire providers — we are not a skip operator ourselves. The skip hire contract is between you and the provider. By submitting your details, you agree to be contacted by the provider we match you with.
1. About Us
Peterborough Skip Hire (“we”, “us”, “our”) is an independent lead generation and referral service. We connect customers across Peterborough and the surrounding Cambridgeshire area with local, licensed skip hire providers.
We are not a skip hire operator or waste carrier. We do not deliver, collect or dispose of waste, and we do not provide skip hire ourselves. All skip hire is provided by independent, Environment Agency registered providers, with whom you enter into a separate contractual relationship.
2. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using our website, or by submitting an enquiry form, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree, please do not use our website or submit your details.
3. Our Service
Our service is free of charge to you. When you submit an enquiry, we will:
- Review your enquiry and match you with a suitable local, licensed skip hire provider
- Pass your name, contact details and job information to that provider
- The provider will then contact you directly to confirm pricing, availability and delivery
We aim to connect you with a provider promptly, but we cannot guarantee specific response times, availability, or that a provider will be able to fulfil your particular request, as this depends on the providers we work with.
4. Pricing
All prices shown on our website are indicative only and based on typical rates in the Peterborough area. They are not an offer or a quote.
- Your actual price is set and confirmed by the provider you are matched with, not by us
- A council permit fee typically applies where a skip is placed on a public road, and is additional to the hire price
- We are not a party to any payment between you and the provider
We accept no responsibility for any difference between prices shown on this website and those quoted by a provider.
The hire agreement is with the provider, not us. Matters such as hire period, what can and cannot go in the skip, permits, placement, access, overloading, collection and waste disposal are governed by the terms of the independent provider you hire from. The points below are general guidance only — your provider’s own terms apply to your hire.
5. Hire Period (Guidance)
Standard skip hire periods are typically up to 14 days, though this varies by provider. If you need a skip for longer, or need it collected sooner, arrange this directly with your provider.
6. Permits & Placement (Guidance)
If a skip is placed on your own private property (driveway or land) no permit is normally required. If it must be placed on a public road or pavement, a permit from Peterborough City Council is required by law. Your provider will usually arrange this on your behalf and pass on the cost. You are responsible for ensuring there is safe, legal and accessible space for the skip.
7. Prohibited Waste (Guidance)
Certain items cannot legally go in a skip — including fridges and freezers, TVs and electrical items, tyres, batteries, asbestos, paint, oils and liquid chemicals, and gas bottles. Your provider can advise on restricted items, and may charge for the separate disposal of anything prohibited. Always check with your provider before loading.
8. Our Relationship with Providers
We work with skip hire providers who we understand to be licensed and Environment Agency registered. However, we do not operate, supervise or audit their services, vehicles or waste handling. Any contract for skip hire is solely between you and the provider. We are not a party to that contract and accept no responsibility for the service provided, the condition or placement of skips, waste disposal, delays, damage, or any dispute between you and the provider.
If you have a complaint about a provider’s service, this should be raised directly with that provider.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Peterborough Skip Hire shall not be liable for:
- The acts, omissions, service quality or waste handling of any provider we connect you with
- Any loss or damage arising from your reliance on indicative pricing shown on this website
- Any indirect, consequential or special loss arising from use of our website or referral service
- Any interruption, suspension or termination of our website or service
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
10. Website Use
You agree not to use our website in any way that breaches applicable law, to submit false or fraudulent information, or to attempt to gain unauthorised access to our systems. We reserve the right to refuse or withdraw our service to anyone at any time.
11. Privacy
Your use of our website and submission of personal data is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these terms by reference.
12. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page reflects when they were last updated. Continued use of our website or service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
13. Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
